By default, your Defensive Assist Strength will be at 50 when you go to the Control Settings. This feature is designed to predict how your adversaries will move you're guarding, but we've found it to be too in some instances to be aggressive. You can switch off this feature completely if your confidence is in your own abilities on the sticks, however we'd recommend leaving it in place for a bit, so you still have little magnetism to keep you ahead of your opponents. Also, take some time with MT 2K23 to find your own personal preferences, but personally we believe at least 25 is the perfect place to be.
There's nothing more annoying in NBA 2K23 than seeing a player with a wide open space and accidentally throwing an object to the wrong person. Luckily, in Controller Settings, you can modify you can alter your Pass Target Profile. This is weighted by three different variables: Pass Target Direction, Pass Target Distance, and Pass Target Openness.
There's a profile that is more lenient in weighing passing a tick toward openness than the default setting, and we've found this to be the most effective option, but you are free to tweak further until you find a solution that is the best for you. Make sure you lead your teammate to open space by holding the Circle in the middle, and Buy NBA 2K MT when you select Full Receiver Control within the Receiver Control option you'll actually be able manually to move your teammate by holding that button.
